Playing with balloons

We took the girls to the mall to play on the indoor playground and got them balloons shaped like a flower and a fish on a pole. They had great fun playing with them while we waited for a table at the restaurant. They also had great fun spinning daddy around until he was dizzy!

Where Sick Kira Sleeps

The GI bug made it's way through the other three of us in the family and we thought we were in the clear with Kira. But, she proved us wrong almost a week after the rest of us were over being sick. Poor thing couldn't sleep anywhere but on Mommy. It made for a few very unproductive days. Good news? We've had our first successful puking in the potty illness. No trail of puke, even, she just ran to the potty. Then, she came upstairs and announced to Ben and I that she puked in the potty and felt MUCH better. I wish I caught her explanation on video. It was priceless!

Where we sleep when Daddy's gone

Yep, on his side of the bed. We love it here!

Utensils

This is what you do with a knife, right?!

Elise's First Hair Cut!

Before from the side....

and front.

After from the back...

side,

and front!

Another view.

Ben and I disagreed on whether or not Elise needed a hair cut. He thought she looked like a cute girl from the 80's. I thought she looked like a girl from a small town in Wyoming. Apparently, a mullet conjures very different impressions for different people. Well, I convinced Ben I could do a cute hair cut that he would like. Elise cooperated and watched Cinderella while I cut her hair. I think it turned out great. Ben loved it, also. Most importantly, Elise loves it. She walked around for days pointing at her hair until people acknowledged how nice her haircut looks!

Playing with our goods!

Grandma and Grandpa Mills got Elise this super cool ride-on truck. It gets used every day!

Elise shared her ride-on toy (when she didn't know she was sharing!)

We gave the girls a fort building kit that was put to immediate use. We needed to make a small "dog-house-fort" for the battery operated dog, also.

Kira napped in the fort on Christmas, in her new sleeping bag.

Kira Opens Presents Alone!

Kira needed a lot of redirecting, help, redirecting, and prodding to open presents last year. Not anymore!

Hmm, what's in here?

Another outfit!

With jewelry?!

Thanks Aunt Stephanie and Uncle Mike! This is awesome!

I'm going to need to get into this bag and inspect the sleeping bag. Right. Now!

Chirstmas Morning Continued

Daddy and Elise are still a little tired from Santa presents and breakfast.

Opening presents from Daddy

This totally works on my head, right?

Check out E's dog from Grammy-K and Grandpa-J!

"Do you see how cool this is, Daddy?!" (I just love this picture of them!)

"I can do it myself"

"I don't even need this out of it's package to know what to do!"

Breakfast break

Opening Santa presents makes little girls hungry. Luckily, there was yummy breakfast ready to go when they got hungry.

Santa Came!

Santa brought a doll house for the girls (it was my sisters and mine when we were kids, so no set up besides some glue repair!)

Kira came out and said "Look sister, Santa brought us a gingerbread house!"

"um, this house is empty"

"Check out the bag behind the house!"

"Okay, we're good. This bag is full of good stuff."

"Look! People!"

Hours of fun to be had playing with the doll house. Now that it is relocated to the playroom, it has also become a dinosaur museum, ballroom for dinosaur and princess balls, and a train garage. Kira is really developing a good imagination. I love seeing and hearing the new ideas that come out daily.
