I think it's pretty clear why we keep using Josh any time anyone in the family needs pictures for any reason. He even edited my arm out of the slide picture and a milk cup out of the last picture with Elise's cute shoes!

Great GranJan's Birthday

GranJan has a St. Patrick's day birthday, so we all went to her place for a little brunch and celebration. The girls had a great time hanging out with the whole family.

Elise Walks

 

 

Elise walks! She has been doing steps here and there since early February. This video is from early March with 6-8 steps, so you'd think she'd be off and running by now. Nope. She definitely walks when, and if, she feels like it. It is becoming something of a joke in the house. Sorry it's sideways, I can't figure out how to get a video on my phone flipped.

Quarantine House

 Elise had the first fever and cold in February, followed shortly by Kira....

 ...who then ended up developing a nasty pneumonia after 8 days of being sick. We went to the hospital for an X-Ray, breathing treatment and antibiotics, but didn't leave for 4 days...

 ....Kira got a bunch of toys and stuffed animals during her stay, but mostly laid in bed and watched movies on the iPad....



...no visitors allowed under 13 years old, so we had to juggle kids. Seemed like as good a time as any for Elise to take her first (and only) trip to the Zoo without big sister....

 ....Kira was so happy to leave the hospital, but we had to drag oxygen home with us since she still wasn't breathing well...

 ...Elise was interested in the tubing as much as Kira was...

...and here is Kira a week into therapy. We were so ready to get rid of the "tubes", but they stayed for another 3 or 4 days. Finally, 13 days into the pneumonia, she was free of the tubes, though it took nearly a month before she was our normal Kira again. This is just one of many excuses for our lack of posts as of late. No promises, as always, for keeping up on things...

Playing and Climbing

Yes, we got new, mounted to the wall gates after this day!

BIG Hill Sledding

We met the Babbington family the day after the snow for a morning of sledding and then went to Mexican for lunch. We met at a big hill on the golfcourse where Grammy K and Grandpa J are building their house. Kira is now even more excited for them to get their house done so we can go over for hot Coco after sledding. She was very brave and went down the big hill by herself or with Mia and Grace most of the time, but had fun sledding with Dad, too; especially when they had a race with Will and Mia! Elise got really sick later this day, Kira got sick later in the week, and no one has recovered yet, so there are no more pics to share. We'll try to take pics this week.

Big Snow

We got about 15 inches of snow the first Thurs-Fri in Feb and had lots of fun playing outside while it was still coming down. Kira and Elise played while Mom and Dad shoveled, and then we all got to play. Snow is still on the ground and we even have a snow man out back. If the kids ever get over the fevers that have been running our house for more than a week, we'll go back outside and take pictures of the snowman.

Grammy K's Birthday!

Grammy K broke her ankle the week of her birthday, so we brought the celebration to her with cake, balloons, flowers, and singing cards. All three of the Cook girls even wore "Party Dresses" at Kira's insistence (and direction of exactly what to wear). Sorry no pic of the three of us. I'll try harder next time.

Random January Pics

We didn't take many pics in January, but here are some of the cute ones. Yes, Elise started standing without support just after Christmas, and is already taking a few steps on her own before falling. Still can't call her a "walker", but she's getting really close.
