Kira's friend Mia had an Ice Skating Birthday Party yesterday, and it was Kira's first time on skates. Unfortunately, the smallest size they had to rent were size 9, so we just tightened the laces and hoped for the best. She and Ben had lots of fun. And, Will "helped" a little, too, fearing that Ben might not have the "skills" to keep himself upright, let alone Kira! Elise was not happy that she couldn't skate. But, at the rate that her feet are growing, she may be 7 before she wears a size 9 shoe! We had fun, and are going to have to go more often so Kira and Elise can both learn to skate.

Dress Up
It's always a good time for dress up, right? And, yes, she always uses accessories. I like to let her pick what she wears and accessorizes with. It is often a hilarious site of mismatched patterns. She also missed the day when you learn to delete the last item, and always wears WAY more than is appropriate. She wore a sparkle antenna headband to school the other day and all the kids wanted one. Sorry parents!
Green Smoothies
Aunt Stephanie inspired Mommy to start having a green smoothie each morning for breakfast. We like to help make it, and drink it! We are in charge of putting the greens and frozen strawberries in. We like to experiment and have found lots of yummy flavor combinations. Thanks for the inspiration Aunt Stephanie!
Waiting for Kira....
Kira started Speech Therapy in January and is working on articulation with phrases. Elise likes to stay in the lobby and play with all the toys that are sooo much cooler than what we have at home. Hey, at least she's easy to entertain.
Stunt Sit n' Spin
Elise is afraid of nothing. Stand up while on the Sit n' Spin that is for kids over 3 years, sure! And, if you offer to help, she says, "NO! MY DO IT!" I think she might be well served wearing a helmet for more than just riding a bike. I foresee several orthopedic injuries in our future!

Playing with balloons
We took the girls to the mall to play on the indoor playground and got them balloons shaped like a flower and a fish on a pole. They had great fun playing with them while we waited for a table at the restaurant. They also had great fun spinning daddy around until he was dizzy!
Where Sick Kira Sleeps
The GI bug made it's way through the other three of us in the family and we thought we were in the clear with Kira. But, she proved us wrong almost a week after the rest of us were over being sick. Poor thing couldn't sleep anywhere but on Mommy. It made for a few very unproductive days. Good news? We've had our first successful puking in the potty illness. No trail of puke, even, she just ran to the potty. Then, she came upstairs and announced to Ben and I that she puked in the potty and felt MUCH better. I wish I caught her explanation on video. It was priceless!
Elise's First Hair Cut!
Before from the side....
and front.
After from the back...
side,
and front!
Another view.
Ben and I disagreed on whether or not Elise needed a hair cut. He thought she looked like a cute girl from the 80's. I thought she looked like a girl from a small town in Wyoming. Apparently, a mullet conjures very different impressions for different people. Well, I convinced Ben I could do a cute hair cut that he would like. Elise cooperated and watched Cinderella while I cut her hair. I think it turned out great. Ben loved it, also. Most importantly, Elise loves it. She walked around for days pointing at her hair until people acknowledged how nice her haircut looks!
Playing with our goods!
Grandma and Grandpa Mills got Elise this super cool ride-on truck. It gets used every day!
Elise shared her ride-on toy (when she didn't know she was sharing!)
We gave the girls a fort building kit that was put to immediate use. We needed to make a small "dog-house-fort" for the battery operated dog, also.
Kira napped in the fort on Christmas, in her new sleeping bag.
Kira Opens Presents Alone!
Kira needed a lot of redirecting, help, redirecting, and prodding to open presents last year. Not anymore!
Hmm, what's in here?
Another outfit!
With jewelry?!
Thanks Aunt Stephanie and Uncle Mike! This is awesome!
I'm going to need to get into this bag and inspect the sleeping bag. Right. Now!
